Church Year Playlists

Here are Playlists for the seasons of the Christian Church Calendar. I hope they help you engage the Church Year in a deeper and more meaningful way. Listen, share, and Follow!

Current Church Seasons: Advent + Christmas

Happy (Christian) New Year! As the church season starts back over, we begin in Advent darkness, longing for the light. Advent is where we wait, watch, and cry out for God to help us, and its music is much slower and more reflective. But then the tension breaks into Christmas joy, where we celebrate that God has indeed come as the light breaking into the darkness. This playlist is much happier and brighter.

Playlists Through the Church Calendar

Advent

In the darkness of winter, we wait for the light.

Christmas

We joyfully celebrate that Christ has come!

Epiphany

Meditate on Jesus’ early years and earthly ministry as the light of life among us.

Lent

Sitting with the brokenness in and around us, we feel the evil that crucified our God.

Easter

A loud, joyous celebration of Jesus’ Resurrection conquering death and sin.

Pentecost

Inspired by the intimacy of God’s Spirit in us, this playlist gets a little weird, but it’s beautiful.

Ordinary Time

In this longest Church Season, we integrate the whole liturgical the year into our everyday lives. There are three playlists, following Paul’s musical exhortation in Ephesians 5:19 to scriptural psalms, worshipful hymns, and spiritual songs to enjoy.

Psalms

Hymns

Spiritual Songs

Kingdomtide

To end the Church year, reflect on Jesus’ Kingship, justice, and his Return at the end of all things.
